Frost & Sullivan Webinar Recap: Improve Security and Compliance in BYOD Programs

September 25, 2019

All of us here at Movius were quite excited when industry analyst firm Frost and Sullivan awarded Sprint MultiLine with it’s 2019 Product Leadership Award in the Enterprise BYOD Solutions space.
In our recent webinar, Jeanine Sterling, Industry Director at Frost & Sullivan was joined by Sasha Gorman, VP Product at Sprint, and Tara Panu, our VP Marketing & Customer Experience to discuss the current state and future of BYOD, especially within highly regulated markets while showcasing live customer examples.

Jeanine, a Mobile and Wireless Industry Director at Frost and Sullivan, discussed the high levels of support for BYOD programs within all industries, and concluded that the main drivers of BYOD desire would only increase in the coming years. Despite all the obvious benefits, however, Sterling noted that it’s only worthwhile if properly maintained, stating that “while BYOD has its clear benefits – happier workers, happier customers, less up-front company expense – these benefits are only possible if your BYOD program is actively managed.”

Key stats shared from the webinar:

  1. 1. Almost 70% of companies of all sizes support a BYOD policy, and the key drivers of that trend is only expected to rise.
  1. 2. 89% of consumers want to text with companies, but financial services and healthcare industries are often forced to implement no-texting to policies to maintain compliance.
  1. 3. On average, text messages are read within five seconds of receipt, whereas only 20% of phone calls are answered.
  1. 4. Text messaging is the number one preferred method of communication for American adults.

Sasha, the vice-president of Product Development at Sprint Business, explained the value of programs that satisfy the tough compliance requirements of the highly-regulated Healthcare and Financial Service industries, while boosting customer relations and maintaining business control at a enterprise-friendly cost. He stated that “Within the portfolio, we have a number of mobility solutions. MultiLine is one that has taken off quite significantly since we launched it.“

Tara shared examples from customers ranging from global tier one banks to home healthcare providers like Compass Health, and how they successfully deployed MultiLine to solve some of these compliance challenges.
She concluded that “ultimately, it’s about driving outcomes and customer value. Our vision is to provide financial service and healthcare organizations the ability to strengthen their customer relationships – to meet their clients through the channels that they prefer, and to ensure all those communications are secure, compliant, and driving great user experiences.”
